Pours fiery copper with a tall creamy foam stand. Brilliant and clear. Nose is nutty. Hops are earthy and soft. Drinks with a crisp, well defined floral that showcases a light ribbon of caramel on a rich and complex malt. Nutty like bitter walnuts. Hearty, brisk, assertively bitter. Crisp bubbles with clean light mineral taste in the middle. Exemplary. 4.25 overall.

Genesee Brew House Dusseldorf Altbier brewed by Genesee Brew House, with an ABV of 5.5% This brew pours out a nice light brown amber color. This brew also has a nice off white head. The smell is rich with flavors and malts. You also pick up on some grins and light hops. The taste is bold, and rich with flavors. You pick up on roasted malts and grains. There is also a nice light sweetness, in this brew. The mouthfeel is nice rich and clean. Genesee Brew House Dusseldorf Altbier has a real nice balance to it, there is nothing overpowering in it. This brew goes down smooth. I would buy this brew again. Thank You Genesee Brew House. Overall I'm giving this brew a 4.5 out of 5.
From Genesee Brew House Site:
Alt” or “old beer. Brewed using ale yeast at cooler ale temperatures, then long cold aged to produce a slightly hoppy, well attenuated, balanced ale, with the smooth clean crispness of a lager. The bronzed copper color and subtle malt characters come from 2-Row, Munich and Black Malts. Traditional Hallertau noble hops provide for the assertive Dusseldorf hop profile.
Coming Soon...Imperial Espresso Oatmeal Stout, Doppelbock, & North German Pilsner

On tap at the Genesee Brew House in Rochester, NY.
Pours a copper brown, with a half inch head, and a little bit of lacing.
Smells like grassy hops and caramel, kind of weak aroma, a bit subdued.
The taste of grassy hops and caramel is similar to the aroma. A bit of toasted malt, no bitterness, not very sweet. The taste is a bit too subdued for me.
Light bodied, too light for an alt. Very drinkable, crisp mouthfeel.
A little bit of a miss. This is quite drinkable, but not particularly exciting.
