Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Smells of milk chocolate, salt, caramel, and a little bit of coffee. I taste mostly chocolate and sweet caramel followed by a slight bitterness on the finish. Very smooth and great tasting porter!

This beer was like "Beer candy!" to me,just wonderful!
I found it to be creamy, smooth, with a good mouth feel, and, as I recall it, a year, or two later, believe it was called a Chocolate Salted Caramel Porter.
At the time I did something I'd never done, nor have since, e-mailed some friends about my enthusiasm for it!

Rated high, because well, it is what it says it is. Smell is on point, taste is on point. It's a porter, so color is what it is. Body is the only downside of this, but I've had porters with less body. I hate to say...."but it's a Genesee", but this is good, real good. Well done pride of Rochester.

Well done Porter to a point. Tastes exactly like it says, a salted caramel chocolate porter but no mouthfeel, for me a deal beaker. I feel lagers and the like should taste like pretzels and darker beers should be rich and thick- which this is not.

A surprisingly superior beer from Genesee! The caramel smell is delicious. The taste is just as good. Very smooth. Will have to look in to more Genesee Brew House beers.

I don't understand the numbers thing or have the experience or jargon to fill out the other areas. This is my impression: cold - taste is weak; cool - taste is really, really good and balanced; almost room temperature and above - loses most of its character and is bitter. It is a tiny bit on the thin side.

Pours a dark brown, with thin tan head. Aroma is of caramel, and dark chocolate. The body is medium with little carbonation. Taste is milky with caramel, and creamy chocolate. Hints of salt lightly come through especially in the finish. This is a must try!

Pours a deep brown with red highlights and fair amount of off white head and mild effervescence. Smells strongly of sweet milk chocolate, caramel, butterscotch and toasted malts. Tastes sweet, salty caramel and chocolate forward with an earthy hoppy bitter twang at midnote with a bit of bite at the end with a slightly cloying but pleasant finish. Mouthfeel is lighter than medium, with pleasant amount of carbonation preventing it from becoming syrupy. Gains complexity as it warms and better balanced at slightly warmer temperatures (as stated in previous reviews).
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed by this beer – at first I thought it was a novelty – but I would definitely get this again and have as an aperitif/desert beer and I look forward to trying their other offerings
