12oz bottle served cold into a tulip. Purchased while visiting Niagara Falls, NY.
Appearance - clear rich dark golden color, bordering on a shade of Amber. Pours a delicious three quarter finger of white head with above average head retention. The head coalesces into a small frothy cap.
Smell - plenty of malt some pine and citrus rind, but leaning towards the piney aspect. Nose is pretty solid and robust.
Taste - piney with a mineral undercurrent. Sharp and astringent with plenty of bitterness of the earthy variety. Leafy hops. Good and plenty bitter but not a real standout.
Mouthfeel - rather astringent, dry finish, moderate carbonation, but a little too heavy to make this easy to throw back.
Overall - not a bad IPA, but definitely not my favourite as I generally prefer a tropical IPA. Worth trying a bottle or a sample for sure, but perhaps try that before picking up a six pack like I did.

9/5...pours light to dark copper amber, fizzy white foam. Subtle citrus pine hoppy nose. Thin mouthfeel, powerful resin filled bitter. Tangy malt bitter close. Slight alcohol taste, and the bitter lets you know it is there,.

12oz brown bottle, sample from brewery.
Mildly hazed pale amber hue, great looking head. Citrus hop nose with some taffy and sweet graininess. Smooth and creamy, a little slick on the palate. Just enoug bitterness for an IPA, a bit juicy with lot of rind and pith. A decent IPA but there are so many brewing IPAs these days you really need to make it standout.

Pours Amber with a half inch head that fades quickly leaving some lacing.
The smell is of balanced grain malts and hops.
The taste follows the smell but seems to be a little more malty than most IPAs, probably due to the darker caramel malts used. The hops leave some bitterness on the back end, but not a lot of taste to go with it. This medium bodied brew is very lightly carbonated. Overall, a decent beer, but there are many others that I prefer.
