Appearance -mahogany body with thin beige head

Smell - coconut, toffee, caramel, oak

Taste - caramel, oak, toffee, butterscotch, coconut

Mouthfeel - medium bodied, medium carbonation, slight sweetness upfront from the caramel/toffee, oak in the middle and butterscotch in the finish

Overall - well done barrel aged brew from Genny. Dare I say this is the best beer I’ve had from them. I hope they release this one again. Enjoyable on a chilly night.

This one pours a fairly dark brownish black, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This one smells like toffee, oak, bourbon, some peat maybe, and a little bit of butterscotch.

This is pretty nice. It's one of the best beers Genesee has ever done, really. There's a really nice bourbon character to this- it's woven well into the beer. There's some soft sweet caramel, a bit of smokiness that reminds me of peat, chocolate, oak, some vanilla, and a light hint of butterscotch on the finish. I worry that it's diacetyl- but it's very light and it doesn't bother me.

This has a very creamy body, moderate thickness, with a soft level of carbonation.

I shouldn't be surprised that this worked this well. Genny really does make some of the best beer in the Rochester area.
