A very special beer years in the making. Unique barrels were sourced to produce a new twist on a Brew House classic. These oak barrels first held sherry, followed by a maturation of Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey. Our strong Scotch Ale was then aged for one year in these casks imparting a multitude of deep, rich flavors.

On tap at the Genesee Brew House in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a dark brown-ish color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like caramel, dark breadiness, some light dark fruit, oak, and light spicing.
It's definitely an interesting barrel choice here - there's some light fruity winey notes, and a nice charred oak character, but there's overall not a ton of barrel character here - it's more just a light splash across the decent scotch ale base. There's caramel, some breadiness, and a vague spiced character.
This is medium bodied, slightly creamy, and pretty drinkable, with very little booziness overall.
I want a more robust barrel character on this one, but it was still a cool beer to try.
