On tap at Roc the Falls at the Genesee Brew House in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a slightly hazy golden and glowing orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like bitter grapefruity and piney hops, with some mango, pineapple, spice, honey, and weed.
I like Genesee and the Brew House beers quite a bit, but unfortunately over the years, they haven't been able to brew a good IPA for the most part. I'm happy to report that with this 12th edition of the Test Batch IPA series, they've nailed it. It's quite bitter, but in a very clean and green way, slightly weedy and very piney. There's also some juicy grapefruit and mango to balance this out, and basically no malt character to speak of.
This is light bodied, and very drinkable. It finishes pretty cleanly, but the bitterness does linger.
This is a great hybrid of IPA styles. It's a palate crusher in its bitterness, but there's also some great juicy hop flavors. I really dug this one.

not at all a bad ipa, not real bold or distinctive to me, somewhat generic even, but it tastes good and i think its awesome these guys are endeavoring to make beers like this. i know they had the dundee line of beers, not sure how much of that still exists, but these ones under their own name are pretty cool, definitely a craft play, some better than others. this ipa is pretty golden in color, nice and clear, and with a short but lasting white head on it. the aroma and flavor here are citrusy and spicy hops alike, a pinch of something rather intense and northwestern, but mellow overall, with a honey sweetness in the middle and a sweet orange peel element later on, vegetal and fresh, maybe not the most unique blend of hop varietals, but it tastes good and ends up being rather drinkable in the style. i usually dont like much sweetness in an ipa, but its nice here, balancing what bitterness is there in the finish and making a more flavorful beer overall. far from life changing, but i think its neat they are getting after styles like this! drinkable enough and full of potential...
