Wonderfully silky and smooth this ale is very complex with pronounced roasty, coffee-like flavors and aromas imparted by a generous additions of roasted barley. Assertive hop bitterness enhances the dryness, and the medium body.

On tap at Genesee Brew House in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small fluffy head, and lots of lacing.

This smells mainly like roasted malt, with some light chocolate and smoke.

This is pretty light bodied and light flavored, but it does seem to nail the style decently well. I'd want a bit more creamy character to this, but the roast and chocolate is nice, at least.

This is mildly creamy, kind of thin, with a good drinkability to it.

This isn't their best beer, but I enjoyed it well enough.
