Brewed with artisan Dark Chocolate (80% Cocoa), Bourbon Vanilla and Caramel, this silky smooth and elegant English Style Porter is seductively complex with its rich aroma and flavors that are balanced by a dark chocolate bittersweet finish. This beer was aged for 2 years in Basil Hayden Whiskey Barrels.

On tap at The Genesee Brewhouse in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like roasted malt, dark chocolate, vanilla, oak, and bourbon.
This is easily one of the best BA beers Genesee has put out. They’re not exactly fluent in the style, though, so it’s nice to see a tasty one. The regular Salted Caramel Porter is pretty sweet – not aggressively so, but it’s certainly a dessert beer. The sweetness has been tamped down here. The adjuncts, mainly the caramel, come in mostly on the finish, with a touch of spice, caramel, and salt. It’s quite chocolatey, with some oak, bourbon, a touch of vanilla, and lots of roasted malt.
LThe body on this is pretty good, creamy, full, and drinkable, with not much booziness. The ABV is 9.5%, and the original porter was 6.5% - I have to imagine they put a beefed up version of the base into the barrels for two years.
This is really solid, and a really nice achievement
