Locken's Ruby Grapefruit

12 ounce can into willi becher glass, canned on 12/9/2023. Pours slightly hazy pale golden straw color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention. Reduces to thin cap with spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of big vibrant ruby red grapefruit and citrus peel/zest, light grain and pine. Taste of ruby red grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, cracker, white bread, herbal, grass, peppercorn, pine, and light yeast earthiness. Light-medium pine, citrus peel, herbal bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body, and crisp/clean/refreshing finish. Balanced grainy malt and sticky hop mouthfeel. Light lingering resin dryness with no hop/fruit astringency. Great vibrant grapefruit flavor balanced with a spot on base kolsch. Clean malt and noble hop showcase. Zero warmth of 4% as expected. No complaints.

Grapefruit clobbers you but there’s not much else going on. I suppose if this was ice cold on a hot summer day it might be better. A little carbonation and head retention would sure help

Locken's Ruby Grapefruit has a thin, off-white head and a hazy, gold-straw appearance, with no lacing. The aroma is of sharp grapefruit. The flavor is of faint grapefruit with some light bread. There is low sweetness and bitterness. Locken's has a light body and a dry finish.
