I was pleasantly surprised by the complexity of this porter. A little thinner than I like, but we'll balanced. Loads of roasted coffee and dark chocolate on the nose with a mimicking flavor. It's bitter to a fault and very easy drinking. Definitely something to check out if you stop by the brewery.

A good example of a simple but effective beer. Pours a brown body with two finger offwhite head with some lace and has a wonderful coffee aroma that is light, roasted coffee malts mixed with touches of sweet malts. Beer is more of the same as it is light bodied, smooth, easy to drink, and has a good edge that is not overpowering and you get some chocolate notes as well. Nothing spectacular but hits the spot.

On tap in the tasting room at Smartmouth. While the taste was nice, the aromas were amazing. Superb roasted coffee smell. Mild bitterness. Big, rich, creamy head with lots of lacing. Chocolate brown, muddy color. Chocolaty flavors. Gets better and better as it warms. My favorite beer from this still-young brewery. Could make this a regular.
