III Smoked Porter

Poured a black body with minimal head and no lace. This beer definitely lives up the smoked aspect as it has a mostly, smoky, meaty aroma, although not quite as strong/"Beef jerky like" as your typical rauchbier. A smooth beer and I like smoked beers but just wish they would've gone rauchbier route instead of smoked porter, only b/c the smoke/meat flavor profile is not as good as a rauchbier b/c not complemented by hops/malts; the hops in this beer are almost non-existent, as one might expect, but the malts one finds in a porter are minimal (touch of sticky sweetness) and overpowered. It is a good beer worth trying but I personally don't care for this combo of styles.
