Russian Imperial Stout, named after the “Great Bear” constellation Ursa Major. Brewed with some of the finest dark malts, this bold stout has been aged in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels to further refine its temperament. From the first taste you’ll discover a hint of plum and coconut with traces of vanilla, from the bourbon. The stout is very smooth, with a silky mouthfeel, given its mighty nature. It is a shining light in the Smartmouth family of beers, and a stout that truly reaches for the stars.

Poured a black body with minimal head and no lace. The aroma strikes me as boozy/bourbon and woody with slight vanilla sweetness but not much else. Slightly sticky, the barrel aging helps it go down smooth and at times it gets sticky and hot from booze while maintaining a vanilla sweetness but it's not a RIS in my opinion (too thin, not strong, not as tasty). It's not bad but if you want a solid RIS that will be harsh/roasted/toasted/heavy then bypass this beer.
