I didn't see a date on the can.
Appearance: The beer has a black body and a short, creamy textured, light-khaki head. It has good retention and very good lacing.
Aroma: It smells absolutely fantastic. There are notes of coffee, vanilla, toffee, maple syrup, and caramel. The aroma is very strong. It is absolutely a treat to smell.
Taste: It tastes great. There is a nice dark chocolate flavor to the beer which tastes a bit like Hershey's Special Dark. It has a slightly burnt and woody flavor to it. There is a touch of what tastes like espresso. It is a very enjoyable beer to drink.
Mouthfeel: It is smooth and full bodied but not thick or chewy; it has a consistency that makes it easy to drink. The alcohol content of "9.1% ABV" (as indicated by the label on the can) is hidden very well.
Overall: It is absolutely a fantastic beer. What really makes this beer enjoyable is that it combines a number of flavors and aromas that work well together and can be identified clearly through the senses. I really enjoyed this beer and it would be great any time of the year. I would absolutely buy it again and I would highly recommend it.
