A seethru brown body with minimal head on top of a mostly grainy, roasted malt aroma (toasted even?) with no discernible sweet malt aromas except bitter chocolate and maybe toffee. Beer is smooth, has slightly sticky maple syrup-like notes and a sweeter taste, thanks to dark chocolate and possible caramel notes, than it smells but the roasted malts (biscuity, bready, toasty) slightly overpower everything in this beer. Finishes somewhat bitter and husky and a decent beer but slightly askew from being a solid porter.
