Poured from a bomber into a tulip. Cool artwork
L: Nearly clear light golden pour. 2 fingers of foamy white head leaves great lacing.
S: Strong notes of grapefruit and citrus. Mild pine and faint grains.
T/F: Light grains give way to a tropical and citrus hop profile. Fruity... lots of grapefruit mixed with pear, apple peel, and citrus rind. Evergreen is in the background... resinous and oily. Slightly medicinal and bitter mid sip. Finish is nice bittersweet tropicals. Medium in body... warming and you feel the ABV more than taste it so balance is there.
O: A solid DIPA. Fruity... tasty... strong. One to sip and savor, and I love the big bitterness.

Pours a slightly cloudy orange, with a fair one-finger fluffy head that quickly turns to lace. Smell is hops, earth, not too strong.
Taste is citrus -- and hops. Mango and apple (not pineapple), woody sticks, turning soon to a boozy, piney, slightly bitter, almost grainy mid-sip. BA user @mactrail says "aspirin", and by god he's right. Double IPAs seem to do this. Something a bit astringent under the surface. It's not horrible -- could be the alcohol, although it's not really "boozy."
I'm also getting green pepper, maybe even some hot pepper spice. Not seeing this on the label. I like that spice aspect, like the malts were cooked too long and got a little wet and spoiled. Dry at the end.
Not world-class but complex enough to be quite enjoyable. If the price is right, so on and so forth.

Golden copper hue in the glass, nice head standing tall, reducing to a thin layer with some decent retention and patches of lace sticking to the glass. Smell is quite subdued opposed to the stellar appearance; light notes of pineapple, citrus zest, pear, hops and malt.
Pineapple and citrus zest take the forefront on this one, with some bitter pine resin coming through nicely. Pear, peach, dried apple skin, pineapple husk, coconut. A little bit tropical, when meshed with the soft malt backbone and earthiness, gives this one a decent balance, but finishes a bit too try for my liking, with not enough of that juicy bite I live in this style. Alcohol is hidden quite well for it's content, though, which is a plus in this style and the bitterness doesn't linger too long, which is subdued by a slight smoothness from the coconut presence.
Overall, really not bad at all, but a tad off the mark. I've actually been looking forward to trying this one for a while and I wouldn't mind giving it another go.

Really good, strong taste of hops with a nutty after taste, almost like a light stout

Decently smooth Double IPA. Not sure of the age of the bomber I got in SD stores but it is farily restrained in smell, taste etc. Hints of fruity tropical (mango?) smells linger on the nose and then at first sip, it is decidedly grapefruit and piney. Pretty good at masking the 9.5%. Overall a good DIPA.
