With its pungent and dank hop flavor, 51/50 IPA isn't for those looking for a "balanced" beer. Classic San Diego style IPA with minimal malt flavor so the hops shine through. Why call it 51/50? Because we have to be crazy to put this amount of hops in a beer.

Very clear copper color. No head to speak of. Nose was odd and not one I can describe. Taste was also odd and not one I can pinpoint. The feel was ok, taste was not great, however it was drinkable.

Pours a clear gold with a white head. Smells of hops, malt, and not much else. Tastes of pine, bitter hops, some light citrus, and malt. Very dry and medium in body with medium carbonation. Overall an ok IPA.

12oz can. 6/8/16 can date. Appearance: Golden and very clear, with a moderately thick white head and nice lacing. Aroma: Dank, resinous hop aroma that has that touch of cat pee and ammonia. Also has a bit of candied fruit. Taste: Starts with a light candied fruit and caramel maltiness, quickly turning to a sharp resinous bitterness that is intense with a bit of grassiness and ammonia. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Finish: Strong resinous bitterness, very dry, with a touch of caramel. Overall: Pretty typical west coast IPA, with a strong, dry, resinous and grassy hoppiness overpowering a light caramel maltiness.
