I tried an 8oz pour of this beer off the nitro tapper at the brewery whilst in Grand Rapids for "guys beer weekend". It poured a dark amber color with khaki head that left some lace. The scent had chocolate and coconut notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet chocolate malt base coupled with roast and subtle coconut presence. The mouthfeel was velvetyin body with smoove carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Great drinkablity and very smooth. Excellent blend of coffee and chocolate with a subtle malty finish to remind you it's a beer and not just liquid almond joy. The slight coconut and malt balances the sweetness and keeps you coming back. In short, it's probably what Agustus Gloop fell into and Wonka is a master brewer.

Outstanding stout sampled on tap at Grand Rapids Brewing Company. Really very smooth, great flavors and depth especially considering it wasn’t an imperial stout. Looks nice, deep dark rich brown color with a little tan head and spotty lingering lacing. Smells absolutely amazing - strong aromas of deep dark chocolate, medium roast coffee, vanilla, caramel, nuttiness and malt. Taste follows the nose, and the flavors are so well blended and mixed. Perfect balance, complexity, depth, smoothness. Rich, slightly sticky mouthfeel, just the right amount of carbonation. Pairs well with both savory lunch and sweeter dessert. An excellent beer, one that I will definitely be looking for in local stores here.
