22 oz bottle bought at Hy-Vee for $9.99. this is a very dark ale, and it reminds me more of a stout or porter. The smell is great, the flavor is rich, sweet but not to sweet, and the beer is somewhat thick with low carbonation. The beer goes down easy and this is a perfectly sized bottle for my preference. If it were any thicker it would start to be tiresome. At 11.5% its enough to make you feel all warm and a little tipsy if you drink it too fast. Overall I found it quite good, and I already bought another to give to a coworker to try.

Pours ugly, looking like flat cola. The nose is immediately comforting. Yeasty and sour, toasty and round. Overall, the beer is a little sweet for me. There isn't a whole lot happening on the palette, though the high alcohol content is quite warming to make up for it. It's pretty standard heavy ale up front, but with a nice, subtle grassy finish. Not bad, but pretty tired of it midway through the bottle.
