Oatmeal, Rum Raisin, Gingerbread, Monster... we’ve shown quite a fondness for brewing with cookies around here. This newest venture on our quest to make the ultimate cookie beer started when a couple of bourbon barrels imparted a bright, pleasant, fruity character to our Oatmeal Cookie Stout. Leaning into the fruit, we added apricots, cherries, and figs to the mix to enhance and deepen its character. To add back just a touch of balancing bitterness and some complexity, the beer was rested on a pile of candied pecans. Sweet, fruity, nutty, and just a little boozy, this beer evokes all the notes of your favorite chewy seasonal snack. Pick up a bottle and treat yourself!

On tap at The Brass Tap, Cedar Falls, IA; served in a snifter. Coffee-colored pour, with a light tan head. The name tells the story: bourbon barrel on the nose and palate, with notes of dried fruit, molasses, nuts, and a little barrel char. Sweet and boozy, delicious and immensely enjoyable.
