Remnant Bourbon Barrel Aged Ryewine Style Ale

Before the age of candy bar stouts, sweet tart pastry sours, and the haze craze, we’d be incredibly amped for the release of any classic, bold style of beer. In those days, Russian Imperial Stouts and Barleywines were king—especially the barrel aged varieties. For our 10th anniversary in 2022, we got to brewing with our friends at Lua and Lion Bridge to try our hand at those nostalgic styles that offered us our first glimpse at beer’s unlimited potential. For this Ryewine, we used a generous dose of rye malt for a nuanced spice that pairs beautifully with a dash of new world citrus- and cherry-forward hops.
