Taster at brewery. Clear golden pour, patchy head. Aroma is light grain and fruity elements. Taste stays the course, crisp malty flavors, sweet, fruity hop sting.

First had at The Tap, Bloomington, on draft into branded tulip pint.
Pours hazy deep gold, with 1/2-finger near-white head, which dissipates quickly but leaves nice etched rings of lace. Spicy, fruity aroma. Begins with mild carbonation, then moderate fruity sweetness with a citrus rind bitterness on the way out.
Bionic Dragon is a traditional American IPA, with a nod toward the New England style.

Another winner by Tap Brewery. Here goes:
A: Only downside about the beer. Hazy yellow and somewhat lacking in lacing, but the head is still good.
S: Very complex. Floral and tropical fruit predominate. Can detect lots of mango, pineapple, lemon, and flowers. Great.
T: Follows the nose. Pineapple and mango really open up; the lemon is also present but is more subdued, thus mitigating the bitter aftertaste.
F: Good.
O: A great concoction. Tap Brewery really knows how to make IPAs.

This really took me by surprise. This isn't your classic token brewpub IPA, it's actually surprisingly on point for where the leading edge of the style is today: raw, fresh, green, and hazy. It reminded me a lot of the approach that Trillium takes to brewing IPA's, and in particular it reminded me of Upper Case. The balance, flavor integration, and hop quality are a little short of the great IPA's in that vein, but it's a really good IPA.
