Traditional German festival beer, this medium-bodied lager has a wonderful sweet, malty and bready aroma and a firm malt flavor, balanced with mild bitterness and a clean, dry finish.

4oz sample at the West Lafayette location. Bright medium amber. Nondescript malty aroma. The taste is semisweet caramel malt with minimal hop flavor or bitterness. The feel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation and a semi dry finish. Overall, poor Märzen, but ok beer, if a little sweet and flabby.

Pretty good example of the style. Here goes:
A: Not very good. Pours a light yellow-orange with very little head and lacing. Body carbonation is also somewhat lacking.
S: Some caramel and light chocolate. Mostly toasted cereal malts and grains. Very toasty overall, but still somewhat lacking in the smell department.
T: Good. Flavors more prominent in the taste than in the smell. Toasted cereal grains, caramel, and mild chocolate. Pretty rich and complex.
F: Little lacking in carbonation, but still very full-bodied for the style.
O: Good beer; better than expected.
