Tall can, stamped w/best before 10/1/20.

Pours out with a less then moderate haze, Amber, with an orangish hue, moderate head and minimal lace left on the glass.

Muted herbal and fruity nose.

Tasty and complex DIPA, with soft stone fruit, citric, herbal and tea infused notes...understated and nicely crafted. Worth a try....

Who is rating this up to almost 4? Completely mediocre, sticky sweet froot loops IPA. Just like every other amateur IPA on the shelf being passed over for the good stuff. Hard pass.

Poured from a 16oz can into a pint glass. 11/09/17 canning date.

Pours a pretty clear amber body with a frothy off-white head that reduces to leave good lacing and retention.

Aromas are resinous and hoppy with a lot of malt. Taste is piney, resinous hops with a bit of sweetness, floral and a little soapy. Easy drinker for 8.5%.

This was a nice surprise. Chose it on tap at Catsup and Mustard as it was onle of the only IPAs this season and it is delicious.

Almost too sweet and drinkable. Lighlty malty with little to no bitterness. Im drawn to more earthy tastes but this one is surprisingly drinkable for the sweetness. Almost copper look with light off-white head and sweet smell, (maybe even floral).

Worth a try hands down, I will definitely order another.

I am sooooooooooooo tired of giving Half Full Brewery a second chance and a third chance and a fourth chance. UGH!!!! This beer is wretched!! As soon as I took the first sip, I quickly ran to my recycling bin to fetch out the can to see if there was a best by date or a Packed On date, because I thought I must have bought a can that was several years old. Sure enough, it was packed on September 5th, 2017 and I drank it on October 1st, 2017. Not even a month went by, so that can't be the reason for the vile taste. I had a hard time choking it down. I had to open a can of CT Valley Brewing's "I'm In Love With The Simcoe", drink that to give me some liquid courage, and then finish off the Liquid Hoptimism with a clothes pin on my nose. Pass on it. Buy something else. I promise you that you'll thank me.

Canned 27 July.

A mostly clear amber with a dense, off-white head with good retention, this looks solid. The nose is a nice blend of grapefruit, passionfruit, guava, and, unfortunately, toasted malt, a little caramel and some honey. The palate opens with a modest fruity hop character - grapefruit, mandarins, peach and guava, slightly dulled by a lack of bright bitterness. Caramel, toast and a little earth are present on the mid-palate. Mildly sweet on the finish, with some caramel, this is decent.

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a semi-dark copper almost amber color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Light stringy lace. The aroma had a little bit of pine melding with some tropical fruity qualities. Light malt backbone. The flavor didn’t necessarily blend fully, but it did have a nice smooth clean quality about it. Smooth sweet aftertaste and finish. The feel was roughly medium bodied with a decent sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV shouldered the appropriate strength. Overall, it’s a pretty good DIPA that I could come back to if given.

Poured into a snifter. Hazy brownish orange color with a creamy head and lacing. Slightly bitter hop smell with mild malt undertones. Citrusy hop taste with almost no bitterness, in fact, it has a mild sweetness. Alcohol is very well disguised.

A: Poured from the can into a Duvel tulip. Body is honey-amber with a big (2-finger) bubbly ecru-colored head. Good foamy lace.

S: Very nice traditional DIPA nose - good caramel malt base and a C-hop type nose of citrus (oranges, candied orange peels, and grapefruit).

T: This reminds me of the DIPAs of 2009 or 2010. It's balanced, with a full-bodied honey or caramel-malt sweet foundation. Sweeter citrusy hops follow, as with the nose: candied orange peel, tangerines and some citrus peel. A bit of warmth from the ABV, along with the orange flavors, evokes Southern Comfort. Finishes a wee bit too sweet though; could use a lemony or grapefruity bitter kick at the end, IMO. After typing that, I do note a bit of pine needle bitterness lingering in the aftertaste, though I still say it's not enough.

M: Medium-to-full in body, with a slight gritty or chalky feel on the aftertaste that detracts from the overall experience.

O: This one started strong but lost steam.

16oz can. Pours a semi hazy brownish Amber with over an inch of thick head. Lots of lacing. Nice tropical fruit aroma. Passionfruit, grapefruit, guava, pineapple and tangerine. The taste is a bitter version of the aroma. Passionfruit, guava, grapefruit. Some dank and herbal hops towards the end. Light toasted malts. Creamy mouthfeel and a bit oily. Bitter with some warming alcohol. I'm pretty impressed by this one. Overall, worth seeking out and I will be buying more.
