Review from notes, had this one on vacation back in 2015-16
This was a solid english IPA that reminded me of some of the first examples of the style that I ever had. That and a very well-executed homebrew. Solid dose of those odd muted english style bittering hops... those blast you followed by plenty of sweet amber malt in the finish
Better than you'd expect

Tin purchased from Home Plus in Korea. Roughly 5 mo. old beer, so hops a bit faded I'd imagine. Definitely not an IPA as most readers here will recognize; however, it is a fair attempt at the style here in Korea. This is actually the first Korean IPA I've seen.
7Brau IPA actually reminds me a lot of a typical English ale one may find in an Asian supermarket, such as Abbot Ale or Old Speckled Hen. There is a fair amount of sweetness and not much in the way of hops, though a bitterness does linger a bit.
The more I sip on this, I do detect some more IPA-like qualities, and I would advise the reader to try this one as fresh as possible. In this incantation it's certainly not bad, but fresh would have to be a lot better.
Cannot find any info on the grain build or hops used in brewing, but I'm sure there must be typical English hops in there. The color is also quite dark, like one would see in an English-style beer of this type. A hop bomb it is not, but it's passable.

This beer is currently on tap at the Mexican food franchise On The Boarder. It is an amazing offering for Korea, as many restaurants still only offer bland lagers and perhaps a decent, but overpriced, import like Guinness.
The 7brau is a great locally brewed IPA. It might not hold up against international competition, but for South Korea it more than holds its own.
It has a nice level of hoppiness and a smooth finish. It won't blow your mind, but it is a very solid offering. I highly recommend.

7Bräu currently make a Pilsner, a stout and an English style IPA which is their flagship brew and the only one available in supermarkets here in Korea. This is yet another edit as I'm sure the quality has diminished since its arrival in supermarkets.
A: A darkish not overly bright copper. Big soft off-white head. Good lacing.
S: Sweet caramel and a bit of English style bathwater hoppiness, which is nice.
T: A blend of dry caramel, nuts and citrus, all kind of muffled under a harsh bitter quality. Has a tiny bit of English bathwater hoppiness. I can't taste any of the herbs and spices mentioned on the can.
M: Sleepy. It's trying too hard to emulate cask ale.
O: The first time I had this it was great, particularly because it was the first Korean beer I'd had with any discernable flavour. It's not as nice now though.
