Oakwell Dark Mild

27th Oct 2012: wolfed a hand-pulled half pint of this while the rest on the mini-bus finished their beers (CAMRA Survey Trip): I'd already had a pint of Barnsley Bitter and Oakwell Senior, but others had said how tasty the Mild was. So I had no choice but to have a quick half did I?

Deep Ruby/Brown body with a full crown of biege coloured foam: looked good.

The nose and taste go hand in hand: semi-sweet chocolate malts lead the way with a pleasant hop finish, other tones come and go,sadly I can't really remember what they were: I was drinking at pace so the written notes were done on the mini bus as we drove to the next pub and I obviously didn't put down enough!

I scored it straight 4's, so it must have had a good body strength and overall character.
