A 10-oz. pour at the brewery. Golden straw color, slightly hazy with an off-white head with average retention and rings of lace.
Toasted wheat with the classic banana and clove smell greats the nose with mild herbal hops and grainy bread.
Like the smell, banana and clove are well represented. Wheaty and grainy with a hint of general fruit. Semi-sweet with a hint of sourness. Low bitterness from fresh hop flavor.
Medium light body with soft, lasting carbonation. Brewery fresh taste with the classic (and expected) Hefe flavors.
Refreshing, session-able, true to style and enjoyable.

Straight from the Sunshine State, a classic German-styled Hefeweizen should find great pleasure with its bright and fruity attitude and superb drinkability. The idea is to taste like liquid sunshine.
And so Naples Breach Brewery's beer of that namesake pours with a solid, hazy, goldenrod appearance before crowning with a light eggshell cap. As the scent rolls from the rim with distinctive banana and clove, so do a bready, tangy, citrusy and buttery perfume. As its sweetness greets the palate for the first time, its creamy wheat, cereal maltiness and sugar dough attributes remain high, along with a hint of butterscotch.
As the beer rolls along the middle palate, its sweet cereal taste acquiesces to the fruitiness of banana, lemon and apple. Not to be outdone, hints of clove, white pepper and nutmeg join the fray to complete a balance of complexity and smoothness. Yet there's the persistence of buttery popcorn that comes in late and distracts from the beer's herbal, minty and pleasantly grassy bitterness.
Full bodied, yet somewhat flat on the tastebuds, the wheat beer closes with a fat and oily coat on the tongue, lingering into a taste of stale bread, olive oil and an oddly placed sour note. It's pretty clear that I ran into a diacetyl issue here. I'm not sure if this is common with the brand or if the crowler simply didn't hold up to the freshness or quality that Naples Beach Brewery expects.

Color golden with a red hue. White head dissipates quick-like. Nose is slightly pungent. Taste is a bit tart that fades to wheat aftertaste. Good Hef that'll try again.
