Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a medium golden orange with a fine, one finger white head with great retention and solid lacing; looks nice. Aroma of candi malt, dates, light stone fruit and dry caramel. Flavor is candi malt, dry caramel, apricot, raisins and clove. Dry finish with clove and dried light stone fruit. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess. A somewhat dry take on the quad style with good fruit and candi malt character and some solid spiciness. Not as sweet as expected, but pleasant and enjoyable. ABV well hidden to taste, but warming. Nice domestic version of a quad. My last new brewery from my California trip.

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Orange amber pour, instant head fades, some sediment. Aroma is yeast, savory notes, clove. Tadte is Belgian yeast, stone fruit, and more grassy, savory notes. Latent alcoh heat wells up in the back. Pretty damn smooth for 14%

Just got a stash off the Fed-Ex truck. I'll assign this one a straight 4. Appealing notes of sight, scent, taste, swallow and after-effect (something sort of grape-y/vinous about it, but those pesky yeasty-beasties yank that initial impression back) ... while not revelatory enough to threaten the Great Belgians, it's really not bad at all.

L:. Pours a slightly hazy copper orange color with a small white head and no lacing on the glass.
S:. Notes of clove and spice, mixed with Belgian Candi sugar some cherry and stone fruit, a bit of booze.
T:. Notes of clove and spice from the yeast mixed with sweet Candi sugar, booze is there but less noticeable than I would expect, sweet but not overly sweet. Very nice taste.
F:. Higher carbonation, Fuller body but still drinks fairly easily for the abv.
O:. This beer doesn't drink like 14 percent, and is actually quite nice.

On draught at Frontier Brewing and Taproom.
Pours a hazy orange gold, fairly long lasting head of foam, good lacing.
I get cloves, a buttload of candi sugar, it's yeasty and strong with the alcohol.
The taste has lots of candi sugar but surprisingly, it isn't overly sweet. Cloves, yeasty, lots of warming in the swallow, noticeable in the taste as well.
Medium bodied, medium carbonation.
Definitely a sipper but enjoyable.
