Hazy like the can says. Dirty gold color. The head lasts and settles in a lumpy fashion. Some thicker 3D spots on the class as the head recedes.

The initial smell is pale malt. I briefly get some sour citrus followed by a touch of earthiness. The lingering aroma, though, is weedy with a solid presence of grapefruit rind.

The mouthfeel is soft with a neutral body and lower than expected carbonation level. The pale malt starts with a berry, but unsweet, taste. The hope is strong, bitter, and biting. It falls just short of making this an extreme hop bomb. Still, this is an overly bitter beer which gives a really long aftertaste.

Look: Pours a pale yellow with a nice creamy head.

Smell: Citrus, banana, lemon peel, peach

Taste: Definitely getting peach and oranges up front. Also getting citrus, pine, and lemon.

Feel: Pretty light body to me and has an almost dry finish. Really interesting IPA.

Overall: Enjoyed this one a lot. Nice take on the style, unique finish.

A hazy orange color with a big, fluffy white head and a lot of sticky lace.
Fruity aroma, primarily citrus.
Taste of orange, lemon, on a caramel base.
Pleasant, not at all hoppy.

Had this last night at Tavern at Eagle Island. Was pleasantly surprised. From NY and have not seen what I would call a true NEIPA in Idaho. Hazy IPA’s are not the real thing. This was closest to a East Coast NEIPA I have had in Idaho.
Color was correct, a touch too transparent.
Nice citrus smell and taste with no bitter aftertaste.
I will be looking for this again.

On draft at Roadhouse in Jackson. Poured a cloudy, golden orange color with a good-sized, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of mango, pineapple, guava and orange peel. It tasted of sweet tropical fruits with toasted caramel and a sharp, piney bitterness.

Can pour - murky dirty lemon yellow with white head leaving generous frosty lacing. Nose is big citrus with hints of grassy hops. Taste follows with more mild citrus and a slightly noticeable hop bite with an almost dry finish.

Doesn't appear 'retired' anymore; on-tap in Boise ID; served in a snifter; beautiful in the glass, opaquely-hazy bright orange with a fluffy white head; spot-on to the NEIPA style in appearance and mouthfeel; juicy and tropical nose and palate; soft; fluffy body is very drinkable and makes me think that oats or wheat were used in this brew. Just delicious all the way around.

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 07/20/20

Poured into a Trillium glass a very nice cloudy yellow/orange color, very nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus white head, which also leaves some pretty nice creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, melon), with some nice pineyness. The taste is pretty nice hoppy, malty, with a really nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, peach, melon), nice pineyness. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brew.

4-pack of 16 fl oz pull-tab cans ran me $10.99 USD plus tax at a beer store in Colorado. Canned: 03/25/20.

"India Pale Ale brewed w/ peach & tangerine." 8.3% ABV. "Hazy IPA."

Served cold into a nonic pint glass.

APPEARANCE: Hazy albeit dull orange-copper body. Lacks filtration, vibrance, and clarity. Head boasts impressive ~7-8 minute retention and is white and fluffy. ~5cm in height.

Appears well carbonated. Not much to look at relative to other IPAs...some filtration would really help it.

AROMA: Peach, juicy pear, muted Mandarin orange, lychee, orange, tangerine...Citrusy fruits definitely dominate. Pale malt/2-row is all I find maltwise but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some wheat in the malt bill.

TASTE & TEXTURE: Heavy on pear flavour, actually, with pear's slimy juiciness amplifying the perceived intensity of its similarly slimy lychee flavour. I get Mandarin orange syrup and clementine. To be honest, the peach and tangerine mentioned on the label are actually backseat to the aforementioned fruits...not sure what happened there or if it's just the way the fruity hops are interacting with the actual fruit.

I taste 2-row but not overt wheat.

Smooth, wet, refreshing yet medium-bodied, soft, well carbonated. Not oily, astringent, harsh, rough, scratchy, gushed, or boozy. Indeed, it disguises its IIPA-level ABV dangerously well.

A balanced and enjoyable brew with a decent hop profile and ample fruitiness.

OVERALL: Drinkable - surprisingly so for its high ABV. I dig its reasonable price despite the consumer unfriendly choice of format (so many breweries are asking $4+ USD per 16 fl oz can across the U.S.A.) but as pleasant as it is I just couldn't justify a second purchase given the wealth of superior IPAs out there...this gets thrashed by the local IPAs here in the Colorado market and it wouldn't be up to snuff in California, Michigan, or the like. But I can see where those in Wyoming might reach for it repeatedly if Melvin Brewing isn't cutting it.

Bottom line is it's pretty good, but it's a medium sized fish in a colossal ocean.

Review #1424

The second beer I am drinking from this brewery. The first one I drank was awesome. I am looking forward to drinking this one. The beer is 46 degrees and served in a pint glass. Citrus aromas burst from the beer as I pour it. The beer's head formation is two-fingers thick. The white foam is creamy and airy. Chunky lacing was left on the glass as it slowly dissipated. The color of the beer is SRM 4, pale straw with golden yellow hues. This beer is cloudy.

The initial aromas in the beer are floral esters, mandarin, lemons, and papaya. Nosing further, I smell biscuit, toasted malts, a hint of pineapple, toasted bread crust, a touch of herbal, and hay.

The flavors of the beer are mandarins, huge floral bouquet, lemons, orange peel, papaya, mango, biscuit, toasted malts, pineapple, bready, herbal, wheat.

The mouthfeel of the beer is carbonated, creamy, and slightly astringent.

The body of the beer is medium, medium carbonation, and a medium-plus finish.

This beer is enjoyable. I would like to have more juicy citrus notes, but I am not going to be picky, This is a satisfying beer on a summer night. I hope that I can find more of this. The harmony in the beer is balanced. The alcohol content in the beer is hidden. Well made beer, I am pleasantly surprised. I am going to seek out other beers by Roadhouse.

Had this at lakeside lodge in Island park, Idaho.
Cloudy, 1” small bubbles head. Hints of citrus with a good amount of bitter. I’m impressed with this ipa. Would recommend this to any ipa drinker.

16 oz can from Bier:Thirty. Pale golden milky pour, foamy head. Aroma is a nice blend of bready malts and light citrus. Taste picks up more of the citrus, zesty, but still with a nice detectable malty base. Smooth despite the ABV.

this beer is crazy, and stupidly good, one of my favorites from these guys so far, but look out! its super strong and its so well hidden, you can really have a couple of lunch beers turn your afternoon around in a hurry. it looks so light, softly hazy, a little orange hue to it, and a big tall white head, smells like peaches for sure, almost enough to make me think it cant all come from hops and has to be fruited, but im not totally sure how its made. if these are all hops though, i would be surprised. definite peach and peach ring candy in the taste, some dried apricot too, but not the sweetness just the flavor, this is awesomely dry for what it is, so few big ipa types ever get this clean in the finish, and i love that. the bitterness is also really tame, so the fruitiness of the hops goes on uninterrupted. some lemongrass, fresh orange, and even papaya or something tropical in here too, and there has to be some wheat malt in it, this is too fluffy for barley alone i reckon. i love the light honey floral thing in the middle of it that brings up all the fruitiness, peach for days, almost like a bellini! real well made beer by these guys, a ton of flavor and a lot of bubbles to keep it light for what it is, highly refined overall and something ill look forward to drinking again. its smart in every way.

16 oz can, no can date, purchased in Gilette, WY.
Boiler snifter.

Hazy gold with a creamy head of 1 finger, receding to a ring. Sparse lacing on the glass remains.

Ripe mango, fresh grapefruit, tangerine, orange creamsickle, and slight floral notes crowd the nose. It's missing a hint of special yeast character that the big boys have, but other than that, absolutely spot-on true NE-style nose.

Flavor is downright delicious. Fresh oranges, juicy papaya, a touch of lime fruit, hints of red grapefruit, hints of passion fruit, and hints of overripe mango. Some floral and grassy notes stick to the palate at the end and balance this fruit bomb out a little bit.

Feel is where I feel it could really be improved, it's not really juicy or creamy, but it is somewhat acidic in nature and has a high level of carbonation and effervescence, almost like a Brut IPA would have. Ends sorta dry, mild warming alcohol, biting on the roof and tongue.

Overall, what a stellar brew. These guys are pretty good and I wish I could have brought more home and tried some different beers from them. The lack of can dating stopped me though - I can't know if I'm buying oxidized drain pours or super fresh deliciousness if there's no dates! Only major complaint here.

4pack bought at Liquor Shed.

Pours a hazy straw gold with a good head of foam.

Lots of citrus in the smell. Grapefruit, tropical fruit, pineapple, pretty dank as well. Some onion.

Citrus taste, a mix of grapefruit and orange, mango and pineapple, onions brings the dank notes. Bitterness level is on the lower side.

Good mouthfeel.

Tasty Double IPA that hides the abv well.

Nice hazy look to a peach and pineapple juice colored body; relatively thin yet lasting and creamy white head. Nice smells of tangerine, pineapple and honeydew melon. The taste also exudes tropical fruit and pineapple flavors with a tart and bitter undercurrent. Heavy body yet rather smooth and acidic; prickly tartness coats the palate; semi-dry.

A pretty juicy and flavorful imperial IPA that goes down easy and fully satisfies.
