look ---- pale yellow and fairly hazy - decent 1 finger head upon pouring but quickly dissipates - low carbonation
smell ---- slight sweet smelling with some yeast and bread - smells more like a saison than a german beerf
taste ---- sweet malt/cracker/biscuit with a slight citrus hop with a touch of bitterness - lemony and herbal - nice basil notes without being overpowering - slight honey on the backend - very flavorful
feel ---- around a medium bodied brew - expected it to be a bit thinner being a kolsch but this is nice - could use more carbonation though as it really dies out
overall ---- this is a great beer and more enjoyable than I expected - great fruitiness and spice/herbs - some floral notes here and there - I'd buy this again for sure - I have had a few Roadhouse brews so far and I have been pretty impressed

On draught at Frontier Brewing and Taproom.
Pours a pale gold, great healthy head of foam and lacing.
Smells spicy, basil, grain, bready.
Taste matches the smell. Basil comes across as spicy and earthy, grain, some fruity sweet notes.
Medium bodied..heck, this is up there in the abv.
Not a thirst quencher or refreshing but okay.

fantastic beer, creative and dialed in, they should be proud of this one, its a kolsch, far stronger than the norm, done with honey and basil, they obviously got a little extra alcohol boost from the honey, this is amazing beer, and not just for warm weather. among my favorites from these guys to date! the honey is so bright and natural and forward in this, way ahead of any malt or german yeast elements, but at the same time, the beer isnt sweet at all, i mean, its dry and crisp like a lager, amazing what the honey brings and how refined the whole thing is, really a work of art. the basil is a cool touch too, its identifiable but in the back with the malt, playing up floral and herbal at times to go with the blossom honey element, but also adding a touch of spiciness at the right time, and a freshness that is really noticeable. the honey and the basil together are amazing, and its german enough in its essence to still taste and drink like kolsch, real well hidden alcohol strength here, and a crisp, bubbly, fresh feel to it. this is excellent spring and summer beer, a wonderful achievement for roadhouse, and a beer i will absolutely be looking to buy and keep around in the fridge. great expression of honey, classy marriage of the extra ingredients, and a well made kolsch underneath it all. killer beer!
