12oz stovepipe can from Hops & Bottles. Very pale yellow/golden, cloudy, a few bubbles. Yeasty saison-like aroma. Taste brings subtle raspberry and lemon, neither one dominating, but rather complimenting each other. Soft tartness and yeasty funk.

a really unique tart ale here, im sure soured in the kettle but not like others, its malty in a cool way, almost kind of belgian to me too, and just not at over fruited like is common today, i love how different this is. the packaging is strange too, didnt know these guys were doing the skinny cans, but they look sharp once i realize its not a seltzer. the nose is mouthwatering here, tart both from the fruit and the lactic souring, but its also well restrained, mouthwatering but not too acidic to drink a bunch of. im not sure i would pick out raspberry and meyer lemon if the can didnt declare them, its also got notes of tangy green grape, even gooseberry too, its piquant but not really sour, and the fruitiness seems to be at least partially derived from the ferment. as it warms i get more from the raspberry for sure, like not quite ripe, and the little acidic pop of the lemon, but its orangey too, really good. i also like how much grain this has, both in terms of body and flavor, its malty in a well grounded earthy sort of way, wheaty to me, short of toasted or nutty, but not just pale malt either, and it gives the beer needed roundness and depth. a very different take on a fruited sour than we have all gotten used to, this isnt one of those instagram puree beers, and i love it for that. very complex, understated in the right ways, and highly drinkable. cool brew!
