a lower alcohol hazy ipa with mango and coconut added i am pretty sure, this cant all be from hops. i think the menu said like hints of those things or something, but this is coconut forward enough to almost assuredly have some in the beer itself. i wish it was a little lighter to drink, like the flavors rule, its tropical and summery and even kind of delicate, the hops work with the fruits, but the beer is weighty, somewhat of a grain stew here, wheaty and raw and a little sweet with a ton of body that kind of steamrolls the vibe, not as light and drinkable as it should be, a bit of a texture miss, but the taste is excellent. tons of innovation happening at their downtown brewpub, i was impressed with the beer list and like just about all of them. the coconut in here is fleshy and natural, almost a coconut water impression, not toasted or desserty at all. the hops have some pleasing citrus and lemongrass notes which add to the tropical character, and the mango aspect isnt too sweet, its behind the hops even. its a hazy, its mostly dry hopped, sure, but there is a little finishing bitterness too, sort of botanical there, and it helps this finish. the carbonation is fine, the beer is off dry, but again, the amount of starchy body here is over the top, almost makes the execution seem sloppy. that said, this was flavorful and fun, unique as they go, but the flavors had me wanting to drink six of them, the texture limited me to one...
