Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a dark brown color with a thin cap of a little white head. Sly lace. The aroma sprinkled some brown sugar over top of some dried caramel/toffee malts, some lightly roasted nuts, a little bit of earthiness and had some light maple syrup sweetness at the end. The flavor definitely was sweet through the prior mentioned aromas. And it definitely had an aftertaste was pretty smooth. Quick little sweet maple/brown sugar finish. The feel was about medium bodied, maybe a touch under with a decent carbonation about it. ABV felt appropriate and had a very smooth touch along my tongue. Earthy hops seemed to also level out any possible cloying effects. Overall, nicely done brown ale that the maple seemed fairly controlled in which is what I believe was nice. Glad to see a maple brown ale not be cloying - kudos to Petoskey Brewing.
