Clear brown body, thin white head, some lacing. Nose is caramel, bread, and flavor add a bit of minerality. Feel is moderate, with good carbonation and drying close. A good Dubbel.

Very good beer. Feels and tastes a bit heavy but mild enough to make it easy to drink. Mild hop. Has Mixed flavors that combine very well. Strongly recommend it on tap. Light and day difference when it comes to bottle vs tap.

A little harsh on the back of the tongue but very drinkable.

From a 16-oz can it pours a brilliant, red-mahogany, with a 3/4 inch collar of tan foam that dissipates quickly. The nose suggests candy-sugar, caramel, yeast, raisins, clove, and wet metal. The body is a smooth, medium-light and provides a yeasty, fruit-cake, and slightly sour-noted lingering. The lingering is shorter than expected. There is some nice malty sweetness on the palate as well. The carbonation is light. No lacing to speak of.

Undated can at 46 degrees (Hotel reefer temp) into hand washed and dried BV snifter
Aroma – yeast phenolics, fades significantly
Head – average (4.5 cm, aggressive pour), light brown, creamy with rocks, diminishing to three mm ring with drag marks and a thin layer
Lacing – good. Partial rings of curtains, primarily tiny bubbles with some large holes
Body – dark red-amber, clear
Flavor – begins slightly sweet with some dates and raisins, a little of the yeast phenolics; no hops, no alcohol, no diacetyl
Palate – medium, creamy, soft carbonation

Not a bad dubbel, a little less sweet than many true Belgians and slightly thinner, but still very drinkable. Would buy again.
