You could call this a kindler, gentler sort of Gose. The brewery doesn't actually use the "G" word-- they say it's a wheat spiced ale (coriander) with German malt and hops, and a sour mash. It's not really sour, but it has a pleasant tart edge. It's stronger than any Gose I"ve encountered. In fact, it's weirdly rich and malty, like a winey Pilsner.
Not very fizzy or foamy. Clear golden color in the Duvel tulip. Meaty and salty. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at the tasting room in Ocean Beach.
