Appearance: The beer has a very dark brown color that allows mahogany red-brown through with the light. Good clarity from what is barely visible. The head is a short eggshell white cap with a stucco appearance. Short head but good retention.
Aroma: There is a nice sweet hazelnut aroma and a bit of coffee.
Taste: There is a nice toasty flavor to the beer and a nutty aftertaste. It's a good tasting brown ale.
Mouthfeel: It's a nice smooth easy drinking beer with good carbonation. The body is about medium.
Overall: The back of the bottle says the beer is made with sugar maple wood, cinnamon, and vanilla beans. The beer tastes good but I'm not picking up any of those flavors individually. It just tastes like a nice brown ale. I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for the flavors described on the bottle but if you want a nice simple brown ale then this will do the job. Overall I enjoyed the beer.
