The beer pours a nice and foamy tan head that dissipates fairly quickly. The beer itself is a nice dark chocolate black with a bit of dark brown hue and a slightly viscous texture to it. It actually has a nice look to it.
The smell is overwhelmingly roasty and a slight sweet bourbon note with a tiny bit of booziness. The coffee seems to be the dominant note and covers up the chocolate note.
The taste has less of a roasted note and a strong sweet milk chocolate notes. The coffee roast is still there and a fairly nice and welcome contrast. The beer also has a bit of bourbon sweetness as well.
The feel is good. It has a heavy body but is fairly thin feeling with a bit of biting carbonation. The finish is both dry and a bit syrupy.
Overall, a decent beer.
