A: A cloudy orange tan brew with a fluffy off white head.

S: Tropical fruit. Juicy with tons of pineapple, and stone fruit.

T: Pineapple, orange zest and peach. Delicious.

M: Medium in body with fairly high carbonation, and a semi drying finish.

O: Overall a wonderful juicy, hoppy, brew.

2022 version, just don't love the 2022 version. Also let's pick a lane on whether we are doing codes or colors. Anyways, this beer is a bit if a let down, sweet, and not as bright or crisp.

This is the Red can version of the rotating series (with no date). The link through the COTU website to Untappd indicates this beer has Galaxy and Simcoe hops with Maris Otter, 2-Row, Flaked Oat, Flaked Barley, and Aciduated malts.

A dull amber body sits in my glass - dulled perhaps from the medium heavy haze that doesn't let light lighten the color. The head builds nicely and leaves a bunch of dense foam lacing that stays stuck to the glass unless I wash it away with a swirl.

Nose is fruity with an herbal tea background. The fruits seem sweeter melon-to tropical with a little sweet citrus - clementine perhaps - or maybe even some nectarine. There's also a little ruby red grapefruit pith to accent things, keeping the beer from leaning too sweet (the herbal note also helps - minty to maybe eucalyptus in nature).

Taste starts with a tropical tea blend - heavier on the leafy/earthy side. The orange/tropical juice blend gets the attention of a few taste buds before the herbal notes and grapefruit pithy bitterness butts in. Not too bitter overall - the fruit notes linger enough to prevent the taste leaning the other way too far. Aftertaste is mint to evergreen with a little grapefruit pith.

A nice, soft mouthfeel that is not creamy - more thin and easy flowing with muted carbonation. This beer surprised me. Overall, it's a fairly balanced IPA with an herbal component in lieu of a strong bitter aspect. Fairly refreshing and I could easily grab a second of these after I finish this one. A nice little surprise.
