Very good Schwarzbier. Poured from a 16 oz. can into a "Budweiser Select" Pilsner glass, this beer features a dense dark brown color with only a little reddish light coming through at the bottom of the glass. A hard pour produces abig, bubbly dark tan head that faces a bit into a slightly smaller frothy, cream-colored head. Aroma and taste included roasted malt and decent bitterness, appropriate to the style. There was a bit of chocolate in the nose. Mouthfeel was light and crisp with just enough bitterness to balance the malt. Nicely done!!!

 

16 oz can from Total Wine and More in Short Pump, VA The lager p[poured an opaque black-brown with an off white head and no lacing. The aroma of light chocolate, licorice, and roasted malts greets you. The flavors were muted, but mostly hints of coffee and roasted malts. There is no hop bitterness. The lager has a medium body and soft carbonation.
