Pumpkin Ale

Whether it's a stroke of taste genius or a clever cost cutting measure, this ale had a ring of cinnamon around the rim that was aesthetically pleasing. The ale itself poured a bright and iridescent orange/brown and the head had a stiff layer of foam.

The aromas were spicy with the ring of cinnamon influencing the scent. The ale had more of a pumpkin pie aroma with touches of nutmeg and bready crust.

The flavors are certainly influenced by the cinnamon ring but the ale is full of caramel malt, nutmeg and crusty breadiness.

I don't know if the cinnamon on the snifter rim was an attempt to save money by not adding it to the brew process and therefore influencing the taste more directly but it works. Each sip has a very nice balance and a very good flavor. It's no wonder they sold out so quickly.
