Praga Semi Dark – non pasteurized – un filtrated beer is brewed as a special recipe for Praga Brewing Group by the Brevnov Monastery. This specialty beer is offered in a few selected markets due to its short shelf life and only small batches produced. With a hint of biterness and sweetness Praga semi-dark is very refresing and can be enjoyed on a hot summer day.
This beer style is a true specialty, with a pleasant and very specific bitterness combined with sweetness. It is a great choice for those who like the combination of bitter and sweet tastes. The Praga Semidark has a beautiful caramel colour.
PROFILE: SELECTION OF CARAMELISED MALTS, PLEASANT BITTERNESS, VERY SMOOTH

Copenhagen 20/3 2018. 50 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen. Pragas usual design in semi dark version.
Pours dark amber with a reddish hue and yellowish head. Settles as thin patchy layer of foam. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is rather sweet. Sweet caramel, light roasty notes, butter and a very light touch of smoke.
Strong prickly carbonation and thin watery texture.
Flavor is rather sweet without being oppressive. Followed by medium bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter sweet. Lingering.
Not a fantastic Czech beer by any means. But refreshing and with a decent bitterness if you get through the caramel.
