Purchased on site from the brewery in a growler. Above all, a highly drinkable beer. Good color and carbonation, excellent mouthfeel. It is sturdy without being heavy; as good on a hot day as a cold one. I have purchased gallons of this and hope they bring it back on tap again. Is it a world class, life changing beer? no. Will I buy it again - hell yes.

Poured from 12-ounce bottle into a straight-sided glass. Stellar appearance. Deep, reddish-brown colored body with gorgeous ruby highlights and a fairly long-lasting light tan head that left some nice lacing. Big aromas and flavors of dark roasted malts. There are notes of toffee, dark bread, and figs, with quite a bit of fruity tartness. Medium mouthfeel, with plenty of bitterness on the finish. The bitterness mellows a bit as the beer warms toward room temperature. Overall, this is an excellent beer, delicious, drinkable, and very satisfying.

Pours a clear mahogany color. 1/3 inch head of an off-tan color. Good retention and slight lacing. Smells of sweet malt, caramel malt, yeast, slight pale malt, spicy hops, hint of citrus hops, and a hint of nut. Fits the style of an Altbier. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level and a hint of bitterness. Tastes of sweet malt, caramel malt, yeast, slight pale malt, spicy hops, hint of citrus hops, and a hint of nut. Overall, good blend, decent body, and good feel.

Poured a clear, light brown color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of roasted malt and sweet caramel. It had a nice roasty flavor with a toasted caramel backbone. Mild bitterness.
