Pours very dark with lively carbonation and a bubbly, fairly persistent head. The marriage of schwarzbier and yirgacheffe coffee is almost perfectly executed. If anything, the coffee could have been given a little more prominence. Still, I was pleased to see a brewery not overdo the added flavor. Too many brewers want to beat us over the head with heavy, syrupy added flavors. Church Street avoided that zealotry. Pick some up if you can.

Day 13 of the 2021 Advent Calendar. Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours pitch black with a fluffy light brown head. Smells of coffee and sweet grain. Tastes of coffee with nice grain backbone. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

Poured from a can. Very dark with a large tan head and lacing. Smells of chocolate, lactate and coffee. Flavors of roasted grain, coffee, chocolate and nuts. Very light and smooth, coffee really comes through.
