From the label:"This amber lager was brewed with a unique technique used by European brewers hundreds of years ago. Superheated stones were dropped into the wort, causing intense caramelization of the sugars in the liquid and a vigorous boil. The result is a delicious lager packed full of maillard products that give it a flavor unlike anything else."
Brewed in collaboration with Art History Brewing and marked "Batch 1043 10/08/2023" I trust that is a best by date and know it was released in the last month or so.
Gorgeous clear amber, burnt umber, colored body supporting a 1" head of khaki colored mixed bubbles and leaving webbed lacing from top to bottom.
Fruity aromas float over the caramelized sugar and flow into nearly banana flavored esters. Not at all sweet with an almost drying effect, yet clean and delicious. Very beer like.
Overall an interesting technique producing a delicious beer. Maybe I'll get to see them brew it one day.

Had on tap. Clear amber body with a huge khaki colored head. They absolutely nailed this: big malts with tones of caramel, toffee, and general sweeter tones, earthy amber yeast with mild fruit esters in the nose. Taste cuts the fruit a bit but adds a mild note of mineral water. Feel is light and clean, thinner body never cuts into the smooth malts. Not sure what more you could want from this traditional steinbier besides a little more depth and complexity in the yeast, this was worth multiple pours

Pours deep amber/copper color; thin of white mixed bubbles head; poor cap retention; small island of micro dots; thin plus ring; a few spots of lace; excellent clarity. Caramel malt and mild cherry nose. Semi sweet caramel, light spicy hops, stone fruit in finish. Light body, clean feel; moderate minus carbonation. Overall an enjoyable malt forward lager.

I had this on draft 1/12/23 @ the Beer Temple.
Cloudy orange/red appearance.
Nice off-white head; decent lace.
Strawberry & honeyed wheat notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Strawberry, caramel & dry wheat flavors. Tasty!
