Scotch Barrel Aged Russian Rhapsody

22oz undated bottle poured like 20 weight into a rocks glass shows a lightless, deep, dark...essentially black, body with sporadic wisps of off-white tight bubbles and a furry edge hugging ring. Sheets of bubbles race down the glass with agitation but fall to random artistic lacing.

Aroma is strong roasted malt, leaning coffee beans, with notes of roasted cocoa bean, malted milk, and a hint of peat.

Flavor doesn't quite meld. There are touches of the roast malt and scotch flavors, however they almost compete, causing me to sense a sarsaparilla note with mint, which is not expected.

Mouthfeel is full, if on the thin side, and just short of creamy.

Overall a very different experience here compared to the base and the Amburana aged version. The scotch aging didn't quite advance the ball.
