Renamed in honor of the new brewery location in Avondale. You can't get any more local than this beer right here. Local hop growers, many of whom are your neighbors, have donated fresh hops to make this beer. Every year, the blend is slightly different, but Cascade hops generally make up 70% of the hop bill with Chinook, Centennial, Fuggle and a few other varieties making up the rest. Flavors of citrus, pepper and pine may be found in this blend. A portion of the proceeds from this beer is donated to Arts Alive Chicago to promote public art installations in our neighborhood.

12/4/18 (Chicago): 12 oz can canned 10/11/18 ($10 six pack plus tax) poured into pint glass. Bronze pour, thin white head and ring, pronounced citrus aroma slightly sweet. Nice dry crisp clean citrus taste and mouth feel, slightly bitter but very balanced, nice hops in this offering. Carbonation holds well, nice and easy drinking. Another excellent offering by Lake Effect!

Draft at the brewery.
Hazy pale orange, chunky lacing around the edges.
Aroma is fresh and zesty with some citrus and yeast esters. Herbal taste with a clean dry finish and a lasting bitterness. Light and clean, easy drinking. Pleasant, but seemingly more yeast driven than hop driven. Overall though, it's an interesting midwestern wet-hopped harvest ale.

2017: Donated some hops this year, was told the base recipe is close to Arbor Oak, which is an amber. Has a slight fruity, estery flavor and very low actual bitterness, making me think the hops were added in secondary. Not bad though and certainly drinkable. Can says 70% Cascade, with Chinook, Centennial, Fuggles, and others in the mix. The pound of Cascade and Columbus I donated were probably just a drop in the bucket.

A solid Pale.
Brew-my-ster Clint, uses local backyard gardner Hop donations. How is that for unique? Hand picked and best of Nuggets go into this one.

This is why it is seasonal.

I love the "nose" on it and has a nice "backside" after-pallet swoosh!

Nothing butt "net" here, boys & girls.

Don't forget the Saturday tours.
