12 ounce bottle into a snifter. Had 7/5/18.
Pours a clear amber, with a 1/2 inch foamy head and some soapy cling. Aromas of malt, oak, some cherries, grapes, light bourbon, some toffee, a little brown sugar. The taste is a little more bourbon forward, malt, oak, grapes, dates, light caramel, light wine. Slightly harsh, a decent medium body, appropriately carbonated on the low side.
Not sure this wasn’t a little infected. In any event, not up to Lake Effect’s usually great barrel aging. Not much to grab on to, here. Don’t recommend at the price point.
