Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy, pale, dark yellow color with a strong white head. SRM of 6-7. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas upfront of fruit and brettanomyces funk. The fruit wins out for aromas of citrus and apple. Leans sweet. The funk is rather mild. (3.75)
Flavor: Strong flavors upfront of brett funk, much stronger than the nose. This is followed by a tart fruit bite. Flavors of lemon citrus, orange, and some sour lime and pear notes follow and the sweet fruit cleans off the brett funk. (3.75)
Feel: Body is medium to heavier than expected. Strong carbonation. Finish is strong, slightly creamy, and rather heavy. (3.75)
Overall: A pretty good brett beer. Nice showing of the Bruxellensis. It has flavors of lemon citrus, pear, and apple. Mild Brett yeast funk flavor, but present. Not overpowering in any dimension and drinks fairly balanced compared to some of the other yeast strains. Enjoyed this one. (Final Rating: 3.82)
