Poured into a Kölsch stange, four fingers of billowing foam, bright brassy golden tone. Champagne streamers of tiny bubbles, foam has long lasting staying power.
Aroma is “beery”, reminiscent of lager yeast at first, triggering memories of my first smell of beer as a kid. As it warms up some minerality and light fruitiness emerges, but not much.
Taste is grainy and yeast-forward, pale wheat and some light bitterness in the background. Whisper of fruit ester from the yeast, but otherwise pretty straightforward.
Light bodied with a creamy feel, carb is crisp but fairly supple at the same time.
Overall, it’s a decent lawnmower beer, but i’m not really craving more. Pairs well with lighter foods, as well as smoked meats. Label says there is Polish, Irish, and German influence, in homage to the local neighborhood, but it’s hard to know what that really entails.
