Jet black with a finger of mocha foam that audibly fizzles away. No lacing or surface skim, just glassy obsidian. Aroma is chocolate and booze, leather, some slight oxidation. Taste has a slight tingle of chile heat, kind of goes with the astringent booziness. Chocolate syrup and fudge, some chile flavor comes through as well. Sticky sweet at times, slight roasty bitterness too. Overall it’s ok, though not very distinctive from the other BBA stouts from Lake Effect besides the chile pepper.
