Nice balanced IPA with good flavor. Very drinkable stuff. Now for best part. I was sitting at a bar with some friends tonight and we were all searching for some interesting beers from the amazing beer menu Fountainhead has looking for a good IPA that was on tap, The guy next to us goes, oh try 27 blocks.... and by the way I work at the brewery and helped make this beer!! Two of tried a few helpings of it. I would definitely recommend it!

Lake Effect collaboration with Cleetus Friedman of Fountainhead.
Wet hopped with Centennial and Cascade from Hop Head Farms, Hickory Corners, MI.
Served in a footed tulip glass at Fountainhead. Quick review from written notes.
Bright saturated orange, lasting surface coverage with a halo of lacing in the glass.
Dried citrus peel aroma, and a light fruit sweetness.
Balanced bitter and sweet elements, sweet malt and firmly bitter grapefruit from the hop addition, also some honeysuckle. Long dry bitter finish, it's plenty hoppy. Impression of bitters in the aftertaste, almost like the wormwood bitterness of the dreaded Malort. At 7% one could have two or so in a sitting. Overall a solid IPA.
Oddly enough, the name is based on the distance from the brewery to Fountainhead.
By my count, there are 48 blocks along Montrose between Lake Effect & Fountainhead, more than the standard 8 block mile grid.
